Spring has Sprung in Stowe

Monday, April 25th, 2011

Spring has finally started to show it’s face around town. The snow has melted away, we had a beautiful Easter Sunday afternoon and the bike path is clear for use.

We enjoyed slightly warmer temperatures yesterday which increased into the evening. I was very pleased not to wake up to rain as I had my 4 grandchildren, 2 of their cousins and a few close friends with children over for an Easter egg hunt. It was nice enough that the kids actually played outside while we enjoyed our Easter brunch.

Here is a picture of Little Harper Mae Eliason enjoying the hunt!

Stowe Bike Path, known locally as the Rec Path is a fun way to spend the day outside getting to know the town of Stowe. It’s great for families and anyone really! You can pick up the bike path in various locations along the Mountain Road. It start behind the Stowe Community Church right in town and take it all the way to the Topnotch Meadows, a 10 mile round trip. Take your time and stop for a dip in the West Branch River. Grab a bite at any number of restaurants long the path or a locally brewed beer at the Shed. You will even find the Percy Farm Corn Maze just past the half-way mark.
